KEEP YOUR HOME CALIFORNIA
The housing crisis that began in 2007 has affected homeowners in ways and numbers that have never been seen before. In 2010, the Federal Government established the Hardest Hit Fund (HHF) to aid with the foreclosure epidemic by allocating approximately $7.6 billion to the eighteen (18) “hardest hit states”, one of which is California. California was ultimately awarded around $2 billion to help homeowners avoid foreclosure.
This money is to be used by the State to develop its own locally-tailored programs to combat foreclosure and is available until at least 2017. California has created a number of programs, collectively called “Keep Your Home California”, including the following:
Oftentimes, however, Keep Your Home California only offers assistance when a borrower also receives assistance from their own lender. This presents a tricky situation where borrowers are left with “all or nothing”. Unfortunately, “nothing” in this situation is a lost home. Fortunately, with the right maneuvering and pressure, the difference between significant assistance and nothing is often the difference between retaining counsel and not. ANAND LAW has the experience and knowledge to ensure that your rights are not trampled on and you receive everything you are entitled to.
